Three seats are up for election on the Jo-Carroll Energy Board of Directors.

Natural Gas Members: Excess flow valve notification

A new regulation by the Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) requires Jo-Carroll Energy to notify all natural gas members about excess flow valves (EFVs) and to install and EFV if requested.

Director vacancy in District 4

Due to a resignation, the Jo-Carroll Energy Board of Directors has declared a vacancy for Director District 4.

JCE’s board of directors will appoint a member-owner from District 4 to serve the remaining portion of the current term of office for that district, which ends at the 2019 Annual Meeting of the cooperative.

Outage update: Power restored

UPDATE: Power has been restore to members affected by an outage in the Geneseo area on Jan.25. We appreciate our members patience as crews worked to restore power.

Jo-Carroll Energy crews are investigating an outage affecting approximately 1,490 members served by our Geneseo and Ladwig substations in the Geneseo area.

Crews are patrolling lines at this time.

JCE offices closed Jan. 2

Jo-Carroll Energy's offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2 for the New Year’s holiday.

Crews will be on standby for outages and emergencies. Please call 800-858-5522 to report outages.

Sand Prairie Wireless Tower Replacement

Sand Prairie Wireless we will be replacing a communication tower in Stockton, IL on Tuesday, Dec 13. The work will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. Members should expect an outage in their internet service for the entire day. We understand the importance of the internet and will restore the service as soon as possible. Petitions available for 2017 board elections

Nomination petitions are now available for the 2017 Jo-Carroll Energy Board of Director elections.

Three positions will be filled during the election. Districts included are: District 3, now represented by Marcia Stanger of Apple River; District 6, now represented by Tom Lundy of Savanna; and District 9, now represented by Larry Carroll of Thomson.

Jo-Carroll Energy names Mike Casper as new CEO

Mike Casper, President and CEOThe Jo-Carroll Energy board of directors has named Mike Casper as the cooperative’s new president and CEO. He will assume his duties by Dec. 1.

Utility pole inspections underway

Jo-Carroll Energy has contracted with Osmose Inc. to conduct utility pole inspections for 2016. 

Approximately 5,000 poles will be inspected. Areas included are on the cooperative’s Scales Mound, Elizabeth, Myrtle and Mount Carroll substations.

Possible scam reported

Jo-Carroll Energy members are reporting they have received phones call that may be part of a scam. Members have told they have been contacted by a caller named “Dorothy Chapman” telling them that if they give her all the information from their bills along with other personal information, that she can help reduce their electric bills.
