Members see increase in power cost adjustment

After several years of a stable Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) on electric bills, Jo-Carroll Energy’s PCA factor will rise starting with May bills, issued on or after May 11, due to an annual “true-up” for wholesale power costs from one of our former power suppliers.

Jo-Carroll Energy will observe the national Natural Gas Utility Workers' Day on March 18. This is the third year in which the day has been officially celebrated across the country, and is a time when we give recognition to employees who provide the service.

Two brief planned outages will take place on Monday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 14 for all of Jo-Carroll Energy’s Geneseo area members.

Sand Prairie fiber opens sign up in Elizabeth

Grassroots efforts to bring fiber internet service to the communities within the Jo-Carroll Energy and Sand Prairie service territory are paying off.

Because of strong interest shown by Elizabeth residents, Sand Prairie opened four areas in Elizabeth to sign up for fiber service, the first since the local cooperative completed a pilot project in Galena last year.

Youth to Washington Tour applications available

Two high school students will travel to Washington, D.C. on an all-expense paid tour of the nation’s capital with the annual Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in June, sponsored by Jo-Carroll Energy and the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives.

The 2015 Youth to Washington Tour is open to area high school sophomores or juniors in the current 2017-18 school year who are sons or daughters of a Jo-Carroll Energy member. Winners will be selected via an application and interview process.
