All available natural gas crews are responding to a natural gas outage affecting approximately 65 members in Savanna.

Winter test for interruptible heat is Nov. 18

The annual winter test for the dual fuel (or interruptible heat) program is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Crews have been responding to mutiltple outages tonight. Jo-Carroll Energy has experienced outages in the Geneseo area and in the rural Jo Daviess and Carroll counties. 

Crews are reporting numerous poles and wires down due to high winds in the Menominee area. Please use caution around downed poles and treat all lines as if they are energized.

Jo-Carroll Energy offers electric heat rate

If you heat your home with electric heat, you can take advantage of one of Jo-Carroll Energy’s electric heat rate.

This rate is available to all general service members for single-phase service having 75 kW or less electric demand. The following conditions must be met to qualify for the electric heat rate:

Outage news and updates

A transmission outage affected five of Jo-Carroll Energy’s substations Sunday, Aug. 30 at 5:42 p.m. until 5:50 p.m. The eight-minute interruption in service was caused by a transmission outage. Substations affected included Mt. Carroll, Palisades, Elizabeth, Myrtle and Savanna Army Depot. Our transmission provider is investigating the cause. 

Planned electrical outage set for Galena area

Jo-Carroll Energy members in Galena and the surrounding area will experience a brief power outage at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25 as crews make improvements and upgrades to the electric system.

The outage is expected to be short, lasting approximately 15 to 30 minutes. The outage is dependent on weather conditions.

Co-op plans building addition

Jo-Carroll Energy’s Elizabeth headquarters will be getting a new addition to help deal with space issues and allow all employees in Elizabeth to be located in one building.
